If you upload
We store your name, email address, IP address, the time of upload, and the licence version you accepted. This is the record that your image was released under the Fisheye licence, and it's kept while the image remains in circulation. Your email is used for the confirmation link and to tell you if your image goes live; it is never published. If you ask us to erase your data we remove your images from the site and delete your personal data, except the minimal licence-acceptance record, which we keep in case of legal claims.
If you appear in an image
A photograph of an identifiable person is personal data. Images on Fisheye are published on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a free image archive, supported by the uploader's confirmation that everyone identifiable consented to publication and free reuse. If you appear in an image and want it removed, use the takedown page; we act quickly on valid requests. Removal stops future downloads, but we can't recall copies already downloaded. The licence bans using images to identify people (facial recognition or similar).
Who processes data for us
Netlify (hosting and file storage), Neon (database, US East), Resend (email), and Google (admin sign-in only). Where a provider processes data outside the UK, transfers are safeguarded under the UK-US Data Bridge where the provider is certified, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement otherwise.
Cookies
The only cookies are strictly necessary ones for the site administrator's sign-in: a session cookie, plus a short-lived one that exists only during the sign-in handshake. There are no analytics and no tracking, so there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing, by emailing fisheye@meticstate.co.uk. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
